DJ NAME & WHERE DID IT COME FROM?: Havoc, I never really wanted a DJ name, mainly because all the good ones have gone J the name was given to me really, a mate who I was playing for said that I always caused Havoc when I played... thats it really..
WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC YOU PLAY: I’m into everything Dance really, although I do try and stay away from the cheese, not really a Basshunter person...
CDJ'S OR VINYL WHAT SET UP DO YOU USE: I’m currently finishing off my home studio which I hope will have a NS7 in pride of place (so MP3’s). I really love my 1200’s which at over 10 years old are still like the day I brought them..
HOW BIG IS YOUR COLLECTION: Haven’t got a clue, it’s in storage at the moment. Space vs increasing family size and you can guess who won. Once the studio is finished ill have them back in the racks. It would be a guess but between 300 to 500. I binned quite a lot when I put them in storage. MP3 wise though, I have a considerable GB available to me...
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DJING: on and off since 1990
HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN MUSICALLY INFLUENCED: My dad always said my heart struggled to keep a good beat, and the only instrument I played ( very badly ) was the Violin.. I love music though and will be “trying” to produce my own tracks very soon.
WHY DID YOU START DJING / INSPIRATION, WHAT GAVE YOU THE INITIAL PUSH: Listening to Electro with Mike Allen, and Dave Pearce back in the 1980’s and DJ Cheese live @ UK Fresh 86, still got his set on tape and it was amazing. I wanted to be like Cheese !!
WHO ARE YOUR FAVOURITE DJ'S: Carl Cox when he was in his prime playing @ Fantazia, Now I quite like Andy C and DJ Hype, Tranzmission was a great set with those two b2b. Andy mix it up, Hype scratch it up..
TOP 3 FAVOURITE TUNES OFF ALL TIME: Valley of the Shadows, French Kiss, and 900 number.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST TUNE YOU EVER BROUGHT: Rebel without a pause – Public Enemy
OUT OF ALL OF YOUR TUNES, WHICH ONE "NEVER FAILS" : Hold that sucker down, it’s one of the best tunes ever. DO YOU PRE PLAN YOUR SETS OR PLAY FOR THE CROWD: try to plan, but normally get taken over by the crowd. WHERE HAVE YOU PLAYED: normally only parties, but was a resident at Townhouse Croydon for a while. IF YOU COULD PLAY ANYWHERE WHERE WOULD IT BE: It was always my dream to play @ MOS, now though I’d love to play @ Matter. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO UP AND COMING DJS: don’t get put off by promoters saying “no thanks mate” keep trying.. ANYTHING ELSE? ANY SHOUTS? ... Big thanks to MDS for getting me into Radioactivefm, all the RedM1st Radio fans and DJ’s ( that was my station I ran a few years ago ) IF YOU HAD A TIME MACHINE WHAT YEAR WOULD YOU GO TO AND WHY: the 1990’s. Only had the chance to go to a couple of Raves and really feel that I missed out L IF YOU COULD DO OR BE ANYTHING ELSE WHAT WOULD IT BE: I love cars, and used to race Mini’s. Now I do karting, Any job in the world would have to be a F1 driver. WHEN YOU WERE 12 WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP: Rich IF I CAME TO YOUR HOUSE AND WENT IN YOUR FRIDGE WHAT WOULD I FIND: right now the remains of the children’s Easter Eggs, and a couple cans of Larger. 6 ITEMS YOU COULDNT LIVE WITHOUT: my laptop, my broadband, PS3, the misses and the 2 kids ( are they items?? ) AND FINALLY....... WHY SHOULD WE LISTEN TO YOU PLAY: well, I love what I do and hope the reflects in my shows. The more people listening the better I play ( so I’m told ) it’s just a great laugh and I really enjoy it.
